After years of waiting, Universal’s Epic Universe finally opened its gates to the public in 2025. As a passionate theme park fan, I had the chance to explore this massive new addition to the Universal Orlando Resort on my very first visit—and I have a lot to share.
From must-visit attractions to food stops and planning hacks, this guide is all about what I wish I knew before visiting Epic Universe. If you’re heading there soon, read on.
For background on what’s inside Epic Universe, check out Universal’s official guide.
Epic Universe is enormous, and trust me—you can’t do it all in one day. The gates open around 8:00 AM, and I recommend arriving at least 30 minutes earlier. Why? Because early birds get faster access to the most popular rides with shorter lines.
Use Universal’s official mobile app for maps, wait times, and mobile food ordering. It saved me a lot of time and frustration. Download the Universal Orlando app here.
Epic Universe is divided into five main themed lands. Here’s my ranking based on experience, immersion, and must-see attractions:
This is the central hub and your first entry point. It’s not just a walk-through zone—it features attractions like the “Stardust Racers” coaster and a spectacular fountain show at night. Don’t skip it.
Fans of Mario, Luigi, and Peach will go wild here. “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” is a mixed-reality ride you can’t miss. Also, don’t forget to punch the ? blocks using your Power-Up Band (sold separately).

This is the most kid-friendly land with water rides and dragon shows. It’s colorful, interactive, and full of surprises.
A unique blend of the French wizarding world and the British Ministry of Magic. The storytelling here is next-level. The signature ride, “Battle for the Ministry,” combines animatronics, 4D visuals, and real motion.
This horror-themed land pays homage to classic Universal monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein. If you’re a thrill-seeker, the “Monsters Unleashed” coaster is a must-ride.
Here are my top ride picks from each land:
Lines for most major rides exceeded 60–90 minutes during my visit. If budget allows, the Universal Express Pass is worth it. It gave me access to shorter lines and helped me explore more in less time.
You can purchase it via Universal’s ticketing site.
Dining at Epic Universe is as immersive as the attractions. Each land has its own themed eateries. Here are the highlights:
Avoid generic fast food carts around Celestial Park—they’re overpriced for basic food.
The nightly “Universe Spectacle” is worth staying for. It features drones, projection mapping, water fountains, and music that ties together each themed land. The best viewing spot is near the central lake in Celestial Park.
Here’s what you should bring:
Absolutely—Epic Universe is the most ambitious theme park expansion in decades. But I’d do things differently next time: arrive even earlier, prioritize top rides using the app, and split the visit into two days if possible.
If you’re planning a trip, consider staying at one of Universal’s connected hotels to get Early Park Admission. More details on Universal hotel packages here.
Whether you’re a family traveler, thrill seeker, or pop culture fan, Epic Universe offers something unforgettable for everyone. Bookmark this guide and revisit it before your trip—and you’ll be set for an epic adventure!
