Samsung is once again setting the stage for innovation as it teases the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, with special attention to a game-changing AI-powered intelligent camera system. This next-gen foldable phone is already grabbing headlines even before its official release, thanks to several sneak peeks shared by Samsung through press teasers and insider leaks.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to launch in late July 2025, ahead of Samsung’s traditional Unpacked event. The tech giant is building high expectations around its advanced AI-driven photography features, promising users an experience far beyond traditional smartphone photography.
Samsung has been a key player in the foldable phone market since the release of the original Galaxy Fold. With each version, they’ve pushed the limits of what’s possible—and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 appears to be no exception.
The standout feature of this iteration is the intelligent AI-powered camera system, which Samsung says will redefine mobile photography. Based on official teasers, this smart camera will do more than just take pictures. It will analyze scenes in real time, adjust settings automatically, and even suggest optimal angles for better shots.
According to a Samsung Newsroom blog, this system will use generative AI and machine learning to recognize up to 50 types of scenes including food, pets, cityscapes, and low-light conditions. It will also enable a feature called “Auto-Framing Pro”, which can detect faces and reframe videos dynamically—even when subjects are moving.

What makes this new camera system special is its adaptive intelligence. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will automatically adjust camera settings like ISO, shutter speed, and exposure based on environmental factors. In low-light settings, it will use AI-powered Nightography to brighten images while preserving color accuracy and sharpness.
Samsung is also introducing AI Super Zoom, which will provide lossless quality even at 10x zoom. This could be a game-changer for users who love capturing distant subjects without losing clarity. The rear triple-lens setup is expected to include:
Insiders suggest that this setup is enhanced by a dedicated AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for faster image recognition and rendering.
While the camera system is taking center stage, Samsung has also hinted at refinements in design. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly be thinner, lighter, and more durable than its predecessor.
The foldable device is expected to feature a 7.8-inch AMOLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.3-inch cover screen with reduced bezels. The crease in the middle is said to be nearly invisible due to a new hinge mechanism.
The device will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, combined with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. It will also support One UI 7, Samsung’s latest software skin based on Android 15, which is optimized for foldable screens and multitasking.
Samsung is also aiming at productivity and multitasking with its AI upgrades. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will include AI Note Assist, which summarizes documents and converts handwritten notes to text. It will also allow real-time language translation in calls and live transcription for video conferences.
The new Flex Mode AI Tools will allow users to control apps hands-free, using gestures and voice commands. For instance, during video calls, the camera will automatically zoom in or out depending on movement, keeping the speaker always in frame.

Another notable upgrade in the Z Fold 7 is the longer-lasting battery, rumored to be around 4,800mAh with support for 45W fast charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
The intelligent AI system will also manage battery consumption, learning user habits and optimizing background processes to extend usage time. Early leaks suggest that a full charge can last up to 36 hours under regular use.
Although Samsung has not officially confirmed the price, industry experts estimate the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will launch with a starting price of around $1,799 in the U.S. market. Pre-orders are expected to begin in early August 2025, with global availability in mid-August.
Samsung is also expected to offer trade-in deals, bundling offers with Galaxy Buds and accessories, and early buyer incentives.
The launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will directly compete with upcoming foldables from Google, Motorola, and OnePlus. However, Samsung’s deep investment in AI-powered features and its established ecosystem give it a strong edge in the foldable space.
Tech experts believe the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could define the next wave of premium smartphones, where AI integration is no longer optional, but essential.
Samsung is not just launching another phone—it’s showcasing a vision of the future where AI and foldable technology combine to create smarter, more capable devices. With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the company aims to bring professional-grade photography, intelligent design, and seamless productivity into one powerful foldable.
For those interested in innovation and mobile photography, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is shaping up to be a must-watch release of 2025.
