Xannova Xan
Xannova Xan has always known one thing for sure: music is her calling. From singing along to Disney movies in her childhood home to performing on some of the biggest international stages, her journey is nothing short of extraordinary. But behind the glitter, lights, and alien pop persona lies a story of resilience, transformation, and purpose.
Xannova, born with a deep love for singing, discovered her passion at a very young age. Her first performance came when she was just 5 years old, training at Theatre Under the Stars in Houston, Texas. That early spark lit a fire that’s still burning today. But the road hasn’t been easy. Her childhood was filled with constant moves, changes, and cultural clashes that often left her feeling like an outsider.
Her family eventually relocated to Greece when she was 11. Although she had fond memories of Greek summers, living there full time brought its own set of challenges. She was “the American” in a new world, struggling to connect until music bridged the gap. When she began singing in Greece, something clicked. Her peers finally embraced her, and it was through music that she began to feel seen and accepted.
Her breakthrough moment came during the 2004 Athens Paralympic Opening Ceremony, a major turning point that led to her representing Greece in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2005. At just 13 years old, Xannova placed 6th, marking Greece’s highest placement in the contest’s history. That experience confirmed what she already knew deep down: music wasn’t just a dream, it was her destiny.
Years later, embracing her outsider identity became her superpower. That feeling of never fully belonging transformed into her creative alter ego, Xannova Xan, the alien pop star. With this persona, she’s created a musical universe for those who feel like misfits, outsiders, or simply different from the crowd.
“I make music for the aliens, the ones who feel like they don’t belong,” she says. “I want my music to be a safe space where people can celebrate what makes them unique.”
While Xannova’s career was on the rise, her personal struggles were equally intense. Dealing with anxiety, depression, and deep seated phobias, she faced a mental health journey that few saw from the outside. Negative comments during her early performances, particularly around her appearance, left lasting scars.
As a young girl in the spotlight, remarks like “you’re so much skinnier in person” led to years of body image issues and eating disorders. “Looking back, I wish I had known I was beautiful just as I was. I was a child. And words really do matter,” she reflects. Healing from these experiences has been one of her greatest achievements, more significant, in her eyes, than any career milestone.
Today, Xannova Xan is back stronger than ever. She’s currently releasing new music and preparing for her first ever EP, recorded with music legends Jeff Blue and Jacob Bunton in Hollywood. She also competed in Eurovision Greece last year and is already working hard to try again this year, aiming to represent Greece at the main contest, a full circle moment she dreams of reliving.
She’s teamed up with iconic producers like Peter Boström and Dimitris Stassos, further proving that her talent is being recognized at the highest levels.
What makes Xannova’s music stand out is its message. It’s not just for dancing, it’s for healing, celebrating, and surviving. “I want my songs to help people escape the pain of the day,” she says. “To make them feel strong, to feel like they belong somewhere.”
Her vision is clear: to give a voice to those who feel unheard and unseen. To bring together the alien souls who’ve always felt different and show them that different is powerful, beautiful, and worthy.
If she could speak to her younger self, Xannova would offer a mix of love and honesty: “Relax, enjoy being a kid. Music is important, but life outside of it matters too. And don’t be so hard on yourself.”
She knows that her younger self wouldn’t have listened, “she was stubborn,” she jokes, but she’s proud of the lessons she’s learned the hard way. Patience, forgiveness, and healing have shaped her into the artist and person she is today.
As her EP release approaches and Eurovision hopes rise once again, Xannova is focused on her mission more than ever. She’s writing, recording, and connecting with fans daily on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where she shares her journey openly. Her fanbase, a growing group of proud aliens, is ready for what’s next.
“Being different used to make me feel alone. Now, it’s my greatest strength,” she says.
Xannova Xan is more than just a singer. She’s a storyteller, a fighter, and a beacon for those who feel like they don’t quite fit the mold. With every song, performance, and post, she reminds us that being an outsider isn’t a weakness, it’s a superpower. And as she continues rising, one thing is certain: Xannova Xan is here to make music that matters.
Stay tuned. The alien pop star is just getting started.
